Fruitful Futures

This series of unique white-line woodblock prints was created during my pregnancy, during a period of great political darkness set against personal joy and revelry. As I was creating these works I kept asking myself what it means to be bringing new life into the world, what lessons I hope to carry forward to the next generation. I was meditating on the natural world and it’s ongoing fervent instinct to conspire towards fertility, towards a future we cannot yet see but regardless will to be born.

White-line woodblock printmaking is a somewhat rare printmaking method uses a hand-carved wooden block and the tedious application of high-pigment watercolor ink to create unique prints that have a soft texture.
